Why call it Disorder?

There are many terms and words used to describe how a patient may not be in the best of health, and how this may be reversed. The terms disease, disorder, morbidity and illness are sometimes used interchangeably; in certain circumstances, specific terms are considered more preferable or practical.

Read more about it:

Disorder
The term disorder is used in many areas of medicine, usually to identify physical disorders that are not caused by infectious organisms, for example, metabolic disorders. Disorder could be considered more value-neutral and less stigmatising than the terms disease or illness, and therefore is the preferred terminology in many circumstances and by many individuals.

Disease
In humans, the term disease is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person.
Diseases usually affect people not only physically, but also emotionally, as contracting and living with many diseases can alter one's perspective on life, and even one's personality. It can also (and usually does), affect their family, friends and even society.

Medical Condition
A medical condition is a broad term that includes all diseases and disorders. While the term medical condition generally includes mental illnesses, in some contexts the term is used specifically to denote any illness, injury or disease except for mental illnesses.
The term medical condition is sometimes preferred to the term disease by people with health issues that they do not consider deleterious. On the other hand, by emphasizing the medical nature of the condition, this term is sometimes rejected, such as by proponents of the autism rights movement.

Syndrome
A syndrome is the association of several medical signs, symptoms and/or other characteristics that often occur together. Down syndrome has only one cause; others, such as Parkinsonian syndrome, have multiple possible causes. Sometimes the cause or causes of the syndrome may be unknown. A familiar syndrome name often remains in use even after an underlying cause has been found, or when there are a number of different possible primary causes.

Chronic disease
A chronic disease is one that lasts for a long time, usually six months or longer. Some chronic diseases can be permanently cured; others can be beneficially treated, even if they cannot be permanently cured.

Cure and Remission
A cure is the end of a medical condition or a treatment that is very likely to end the condition, while remission refers to the disappearance, (possibly temporarily), of the symptoms that characterised the condition. Complete remission is the best possible outcome for incurable diseases.

Treatment/Therapy
Medical therapies or treatments are efforts to cure or improve a disease or other health problem and is applied after a medical problem has already started. Many diseases that cannot be completely cured are still treatable. Common treatments include medications, surgery, medical devices and self-care.

Pain management/treatment (using pain medication) is that branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach to the relief of pain, and improvement in the quality of life of those living with pain. Preventive therapy is a way to avoid an injury, sickness or disease in the first place.

Medication
Medication or medicine can loosely be defined as any chemical substance -or product comprising such- intended for use in the medical diagnosis, cure, treatment or prevention of disease. Medicate can also be used as a verb, meaning the use of medication or medicine.

Compound
A compound is a customised medication enabling prescribers and pharmacists to meet the special and specific needs of patients. One of its most important benefits is to those patients who have difficulties with commercially available medication. With a healthcare provider's consent, pharmacists can custom-prepare medications in a variety of unique dosage forms, including: capsules, oral liquids, troches, and lozenges, topical preparations, suppositories, eye and ear drops or ointments, nasal sprays and even sterile injections.

Your Solution Compounding Pharmacy is the 3rd corner of the Pharmacist/Physician/Patient triangle (The TRIAD). We are thus the component that will manufacture the medication for the treatment, cure or prevention of the disorder or disease that the physician identified.
